It looks like old plasterboards with fibre wallpaper. I don't think it is asbest in any of the materials on the picture.

No worries man! It's rarely asbest in building materials like this.

What you should be aware of due to asbest while remodeling your apartment:
- Some pre-fabricated plasterboards used for light-walls in office areas might contain asbest. Some of this plasteboards types might be used in living sections and apartmenst, but thats really rarely! They are easy to recognice as they are usally mounted with steel profiles.
- The ventilation ducts in old apartmens buildings are often isolated with asbest. Like the ventilation duct on the bathroom and kitchen. The insulation on old water and heat-system pipes might contain asbest. Asbest was used as insulation material on heat pipes and ventilation ducts to the mid 80's.
- Fireplaces might contain asbest, as asbest has really good insulation properties.
- In old houses you might find some insulation that contain asbest, but its quite rare. You'll recognize it by its long clear white glas fibres.
- Some lenoleum flooring might contain asbest. Usually this is not a problem as lenoleum is quite strong and sticky. Asbest is not dangerous itself, its the fine asbest particles that gets released to the air which you breathe in you should be aware of.

And since the tiles are quite old we were thinking on calling a company in to check if there´s some asbest under the tiles on the wall and the bar (which has a rare tile surface) Do you think this is necessary? I want to check it myself, but wife wants professionals involved Thank you very much for your feedback!

I don't think there's asbest behind your kitch tiles. Asbest is used for insulation to heat, and there's no reason why you should find asbest materials behind your kitchen tiles. I think you could do this absolutely fine by your self. You should be more aware if you hit into any old heat og water pipes with heavy fiber insulation, as this might contain asbest.

You could break out a few pieces of materials that you would like to test, and send it to a laboratory to get it checked. If you do so, then you should pack all the pieces in sealed bags, and they have to be marked with the text "MAY CONTAIN ASBEST" or "KAN INNEHOLDE ASBEST". Mark the bags with numbers or names for identification, as those identification marks will be used in the report from the laboratory.

You can Google to find companies that performs asbest testing, Google keyword: "asbestprøver".
